Computer wont start up

Ok, Ive had trouble with my Compaq presario computer before
Last night it was working fine and i shut it down, then this morning i turned it on to find a black screen with several options

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Go back to last known good config

And start windows normally

when I start windows normally, it goes to the windows screen then restarts, the same with going back to the last good config

Also tried F10 for system restore, but it doesnt seem to work =/

Re: Computer wont start up

You can try:

1) Safe Mode. You will then be prompted to System Restore if desired.

2) Safe Mode: then start Run... chkdsk/f
Say Yes to run on reboot and reboot.

3) Boot the Recovery CD into the Recovery Console. Try Run... FIXBOOT and or FIXMBR

Re: Computer wont start up

Did you let it run for a few minutes? It takes a while to load and you will just see that screen until it does.

Re: Computer wont start up

Yes it is. It wasn't there when I first saw the post. Anyway:

Computer:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/p...&lang=en&cc=us

Recovery:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...846640&lang=en

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=13158&lang=en

If the F10 Recovery option is not working you can follow the steps to order Recovery CD's.

You could try the 6 floppy setup to run the Recovery Console but it is an outside chance. The downloads are here:
