dll problem

i have lost some kind of system file due to virus. tpnuknlp is how it appears on the startup page of msconfig. beside it reads: rundll32.exe "C:\Win... Software/Microsolft/current version/ the computer will work without it. I am reluctant to download any of those "can fix any dll problem" I've tried a few and ended up worse off. any ideas?
