Can't Load Certain Programes

Here is the low-down, I try running a program such as Fury (same thing happens with other games) and 1 out of 4things happen:

1. Computer Restarts
2. Screen Pixalates/Tearing
3. Game Closes Returns to windows
4. 1/60 times Loads the game (usally crashes after a few hours)

I have more than the minimum reqs. for the game. I have 1gig of ram. My graphics card is a Radeon x9600 Pro with the latest drivers. Any ideas to fix this problem?

Thanking in advance
- Wikety

Check your Event Viewer via Administrative Tools.

Open the System as well as Application tabs and look for red X errors that coincide with your problem. Details here:

How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

Basic information on Event Viewer errors can be found here: EventID.Net

Re: Can't Load Certain Programes

What exactly am I looking for? I've opened it and the only red X's i see are crashes of games, not restarts or anything.

Re: Can't Load Certain Programes

Oh, I had a look in system and I see tonnes of this message:

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D.

There in large groups.

EDIT:

I tried to run World of Warcraft and on startup my computer restarted I checked the Event Viewer and got this:

.NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.832 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A0592A2) (80131506)

Re: Can't Load Certain Programes

Looking for anything that coincides with the problems you are having.

We need all the details:

Quote:
How to View Event Details

To view the details of an event, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, then click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. Or, open the MMC containing the Event Viewer snap-in.

2. In the console tree, expand Event Viewer, and then click the log that contains the event that you want to view.

3. In the details pane, double-click the event that you want to view.

The Event Properties dialog box containing header information and a description of the event is displayed.

To copy the details of the event, click the Copy button, then open a new document in the program in which you want to paste the event (for example, Notepad), and then click Paste on the Edit menu.

To view the description of the previous or next event, click the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW.

Re: Can't Load Certain Programes

The NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.832 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A0592A2) (80131506) is an internal application error. There is some posting as to Windows Updates affecting it and also some complaints of "plug-ins" corruption.

See if you can get more Event Viewer details and maybe we can get a broader picture of what is happening.

Is this a new problem?

Re: Can't Load Certain Programes

Bad RAM can cause all sorts of weirdness.

You can remove that RAM or run MemTest if you like:

http://www.memtest.org/

Perhaps the RAM match is not compatible.
