Hi guys I have a copy of XP Media Center that I bought last november and installed in on my new computer that I built it was running awsome and the computer was fast. I was using microsofts outlook the one that comes with the office suite so I removed the outlook that came with my OS. Then this summer I formated my computer and now my outlook is gone and I can't even do a repair to get it back and also my Media center does not work when I click it I just get a blank screen. I know if you format a harddrive it does not erase the drive it just sets it to be over writed so, do you guys think it might me that some of the stuff on my drive is still telling outlook not to come back or is it that my HD is damaged. I am a comuter technician and I can't even figure out what is going on here and I know there are alot of smart people here that can help me.
thanks
In general XP Media Center is not a retail operating system so whatever CD you have might be very dependent on a particular manufacturer and a specific model of computer.
Office would not be part of the operating system but a separate installation disk unless the manufacturer bundled both on their disk.
It is not a good idea to delete such things as Outlook Express as along with IE they share files with the integral parts of XP itself.
What was the source of this CD and was it intended for this particular computer?
Hi I don't know if I sounded clear but I know office is a seperate program and it is part of microsoft outlook but outlook express is not loading on my pc because outlook express is a part of the OS
