XP picture

Okay this might be a little confusing because it's hard to explain.

So I was wondering how to get my picture from my XP screen. Like before you log onto your computer there's user accounts, and you can have pictures and stuff. Well my picture is a thumbnail size pic and it was a long time ago but I want it back because i already deleted it. How can I get it back?

Sorry if this is confusing.

Re: XP picture

Control Panel > User accounts

Click your user and there is an option to Change picture.

Is this what you mean?

Re: XP picture

I know how to change the picture but I want to RETRIEVE it.
It is saved as my user account picture but I deleted the REAL, original one.
But now I want it back but all I have is the thumbnail sized picture, how can I retrieve it?

Re: XP picture

If you deleted the original and it is no longer in your Recycling Bin I know of nothing but to find the original source again.

Did you get it on-line?

The pictures are stored here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures

But they are all 48x48 pixels.

Re: XP picture

Not that I know of.

You could open it in a Photo editor and enlarge it but it will still only contain the 48x48 pixels so you'd just get a larger "blur".

Re: XP picture

No problem.

Let us know if we can help further.

You can always take a new pic of yourself!

Albeit somewhat older.

Time flies.
