Windows XP trouble!

Well I recently downloaded direct x 9.0 and after I installed it my computer randomly restarted, so I turned it back on and when it get's back to the Windows XP loading screen it restarts the only way I can access the internet or play any online game is on safe mode, but I would like to fix this problem so I can log on to my computer regularly without any hassle. Also the computer has Windows XP service pack 1 i'm not sure if you guys/girls needed to know this but I might as well throw it in. And please help me fix this problem thanks!

Re: Windows XP trouble!

Start in Safe Mode then choose System Restore.

Restore to a point prior to your problem.

Afterwards go to Windows Update and get SP2 before doing anything else.

Re: Windows XP trouble!

I was suggesting loading SP2 in Safe Mode in order that it might fix things.

If you want further error tracking than read the link I posted.

Shut off Auto Restart and see what comes up.
