Someone please help...duplicate windows files

About once a while I go to start->c:/ and there are some duplicate Windows files that have "squares" in place of the "o", the "d", and other letters...also in the Windows folder "system32"

I delete them and they always come back...there are usually three "Windows" folders in c:/ with two with the squares....and the same in the windows folder under system32.

I have reinstalled windows, run av, anit-spy, etc.....

Please help

Re: Someone please help...duplicate windows files

Basically a [square] represents an unknown font e.g. Chinese characters without a Chinese add on are all [squares].

If you suspect some malware this is the post to read:

Read This First - IMPORTANT Instructions

Then start a new thread in that section of the forum.

This is probably the best thing to get started. If they give you an all clear then come back here and we can look further.
