Re: Dual boot XP Home with XP Home

Currently running two Sage accounting systems on two pcs because only one is allowed per operating system.
Dual booting will allow them to run on the same hardware, but with independent operating systems.

Rannoch

Re: Dual boot XP Home with XP Home

Thanks Jephree,

I work for a small company, and this is their set up.

Another thought. Because it's the same pc will they be able to use the same serial key for both XP installations, or will the Microsoft activation fail.

Re: Dual boot XP Home with XP Home

I'm not sure. I've helped people remove a double XP install as this setup is usually an error in installation.

That being said perhaps you can run both the same. However I'd suspect that you'd need two different keys.

No harm in trying. You will be told at the key step that the key is already in use or else you will not be told that.

Thumbs up Re: Dual boot XP Home with XP Home

Microsoft alows you to activate your copy of Windows XP a couple of times with the same product key, if you have already reached your limit then you will have to purchase a new key from Microsoft, if you have used the key only once then yes, you should be able to use it on both installations.
Thanks,
Seywar
