My computer

Im not quite sure if this is the exact spot to put this but what ever.... Ok i want to trick my friend into thinking i have the best computer but my specs say that i have 1GB ram and all that stuff.. which i want to change is this possible to change? and will it hurt my computer in general ?

I really dont see the point. to my knowledge there is 2 ways, A: actually upgrade your system. B:hack the system registry, but chances are you will totally screw up your computer and not worth it. why do you want to do it anyway? what kind of person takes their eeeh its ok computer and lies about it to his friend anyway? all thats gonna do is make him jealous. if my friend did that to me id be mad, theres no sense in lying to your friends just to make them feel bad, not what friends do.

wow you took it way out of proportion....my friend bugs me and always says that his comp is better then mine so i was going to buy an alien ware case to make it look sick then change the specs to amazing... but thanks anyways

ooooh ok i misunderstood what u were getting at. yeah i can see what ur gettin at know. computer parts are getting cheaper, why dont you just go out and build a better system? tell ya what, in that case, give me his specs, then how much u can spend, and ill give u some parts that will smoke it hehe. but no honestly, short of hacking the registry, i cant think of anyway to make that system look better without upgrading. but seriously, u can prolly build a decent system for less then 500 bucks. i mean u can get 2 gigs of generic memory for like 10-20 dollars, 50 for the name brand, get a lot of AMD motherboards for 50, pick up a good powersupply and a 8600 or 2600 for around 90 bucks, re use a lot of the parts u already have, u can have a decent system pretty cheap.

oh yeah, u really want to save money on a better system, do what i did, find an older case that will fit all ur new parts with good cooling, and spray paint it. hehe its a lot cheaper then buying a new case. u can even cut out the side, put in some plexiglass and neon lights if u want.
