Re: control panel

Try System Restore. It looks like your registry got messed up.

Re: control panel

It sounds as if all your uninstall strings have been removed. They are stored in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \ X
(where X is the application or program) The strings would be under each program. This is the "list" that Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs displays when it's called up.

Are you in an Admin account when trying System Restore?

Are there earlier points existing and it won't restore, or doesn't it find earlier points?

Some System Restore info;

Are the strings indeed missing?
