My laptop crashed the other day and when I tried to boot up again the scrolling loading screen of xp wouldn't stop scrolling. So i tried a few things, last config, safe mode, booting from xp cd, all wont work. So i borrowed my roommates laptop(who has vista) and swapped the hard drives, the original hard drive boots up just fine on his and his vista wont boot up on mine(hangs at scrolling loading screen).
We both have this laptop

Another thing i should probably mention is i upgraded my ram a few days ago, it has been working fine and i tried swapping back to my old ram and it didnt help anything.
Im thinking it may be the bios? but im not sure exactly how to flash it or if thats what i need to do. The bios thing that shows up when i boot is AMI

Thanks, Nick
EDIT: a couple other things i remember but forgot to put in first post, i got an error message about something to do with the cmos(settings being wrong?), i think the 2 options were 1) enter setup 2) last known good config, and i went with 2
I only saw this once
