need help! no sound after installing windows!

hi all! a just installed windows xp professional on my desktop and i noticed i don't have any sound! i downloaded software from this site which detects hardware but it didn't detect any sound card! i don know much about computers so can someone help me?

Audio drivers

The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.
