No Audio Device

Ok, well, I just reformatted my hdd and installed xp x64(yes, i AM supposed to be running this), and now it shows that there is No Audio Device. The speakers are located in my Monitor, and the monitor works fine. I attempted to do a scan of my comp to see what was wrong. It does not display any audio devices, and i believe it does not even detect the sound card.

Audio drivers
--------------------------------------------------
The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.

Re: No Audio Device

Did you reinstall motherboard drivers? Is it on-board sound, or separate sound card?

Look at the back of your computer. You'll see, if audio ports are mounted on computer case, or belong to horizontally positioned card.

Re: No Audio Device

If you changed the OS to XP and the manufacturer does not have drivers for XP there is not much hope.

If you had a card the ports would be running horizontally towards the bottom of the case.

If they are on the motherboard (most likely) they are up towards the middle and close to the edge with all the other motherboard ports.

Ok, well, its on-board then...

Also, I went to the MB manufacturer's website, but I have no idea how to tell what series/model it is.

Re: No Audio Device

Foxconn sells that board to the manufacturer and probably has no drivers for it.

Who is the computer manufacturer and model?

See if CPU_Z can ID the mobo:

CPUID
