orange livebox

ive just had livebox connected whats the difference between this and what i was using before, modem and speedtouch connection, also do they use much electricity should you turn off if not in use for a while? Thanks.

I can't tell too much without the exact model numbers - and you said nothing about the modem you used before but it looks like Speedtouch used an USB connection from the computer to the modem and Livebox is wireless.

These devices use very little power - I would leave them connected and powered.

The big issue with Wireless - it is inherently much less secure out of the box. It can be made secure, but wireless requires more attention from the user to ensure badguys do not use your wireless to send out malware under your account, or to compromise your computer. Your provider should have information on how to secure your network.

For us to help you more, we would need specifics.
