unwanted software

i have software on my computer which i didnt ask to be down loaded on my pc.an icon keeps appearing with platte account on ,when i open it it says i owe them £29 , i rang them and told them i did not want any of their so so called porn films and that i have never ask them ,they say i did want them and they had my e mail address to prove it which i told them somebody else must have gave my address to them, they said they would send me instructions on how to remove it but hey presto they have not any ideas out there to remove this of my pc

Also note - because of the very nature of those type sites, that is, sites that cater to the seedier side of the Internet, those sites are also the sites badguys tend to wallow in, and distribute their malware. These type sites include gambling, porn, and P2P sites where illegal filesharing of copyrighted materials is tolerated. The best defenses are useless if the badguys are welcomed through opened doors. I don't not recommend visiting those type sites with a computer used for productivity work.

Thanks a million, this fix works a treat. I have managed to get rid of Platte from my computer. Try it out!!

I am glad it worked Cheater. Understand if you were infected, it is due to a weakness in your security defenses, or lax user discipline. Make sure you have all the bases of Practicing Safe Computing covered.
