Unhappy Defrag short cut error message

Hi,

Can you help,?

When trying to start the dfrag via the short cut, I get this error message

MMC cannot openCwindows\system32\dfrg.msc. this may be because the file does not exist, or not a MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC.
This may be because I have not suffient access rights.

I have done a Windows file check, and it does not find a corrupted file.

However it will start via going to run and typing in Compmgmt.msc and double clicking the defrag.

Can someone explain in newby terms, how rectify the normal shorty cut.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease Help
Thank you
Maxhammer

Re: Defrag short cut error message

Where is this short cut?

Anyway just delete it.

You can make a new one by going to: All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Defrag

Right click and choose "Create Shortcut" and put it wherever you want.

Hi,
I have just tried that, and it tells me that there is a short cut error.

It did not work.
