Excellent signal, no connection. What could this be...?

What are some reasons why I couldnt be connecting to internet with an excellent signal? I need ideas that are not the obvious IP address, router, cable issues. I did just recently install & uninstall AVG free, firewall, & spybot S&D? Restore didnt work.

can you get to the routers homepage?

is the firewall blocking it?

Yes I can get to the routers homepage but when I enter username & password it says unauthorized. I never used anything else but admin & password, now it wont work. There are 3 other computers in the house that work. Is is possible to set something on one computer that wont let another computer in the house use the connection. I think my son's friend could be playing on another computer. I've tried everything. If I reset the modem, will I have to go thru all of the computers in the house & configure the settings?

have you got security enabled?

are the other machines wired or wireless?
