windows update help please

I have recently run CCleaner as my pc was running very slow. maybe just a coincidence but now cannot get update to work so i have a warning on my taskbar. I have followed exactly and several times the instructions from microsoft ie. go through the list of services and make sure they are all enabled and they are.The problem is still there if i try to do a manual update from microsoft and i get an error number 0x8DDD0018.
would be very grateful for any help resolving this.
