Question How to uninstall (or change setting of) Windows Live Mail

Hi All,

You've not failed me thus far and I'm hoping that will continue

I now have Windows Live Mail installed and I don't want it as I didn't put it there!
Might seem silly but I don't want to be told I have 71 (or however many) messages waiting for me every time I switch on.
I have looked in "Add or Remove programs" and it is there but 'Remove' isn't! It's the same for all the other Windows Live stuff.
I haven't set up an administrator password other than for entering the bios settings so surely it should be there?
I was able to remove some components yesterday (which gave me back internet access!) so am doubly confused now.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

Cheers,

Gary.

Really? No one able to help?
Blimey!
Maybe it's in the wrong section?
Oh well, I'll keep 'googling'.
Must be an answer out there somewhere.
Cheers,

Gary.

Re: How to uninstall (or change setting of) Windows Live Mail

Garyd, as you can see from my sig. I don't use Windows, so you can take my advice with grain of salt. When my wifes Windows box needed some stubborn programs uninstalled I downloaded Brute Force Uninstaller, and Win Patrol if memory serves me right and I used those to clean up her box. I remember getting the software from Major Geeks.

Thumbs up Re: How to uninstall (or change setting of) Windows Live Mail

Hi rokytnji,

Sorry for the lengthy delay in responding.
Thanks for your suggestions. However, I have been told (children!) that I am not to uninstall Windows Live! so I am monitoring the situation. At least the notification of number of messages has gone so not so bad.
Plumped up my security just in case.

Again, thanks.
