Re: Windows Live messenger

Hi Danthespan,

Are your Windows Updates current?

Have you cleared out your temporary internet folder lately? Both are very important to keeping your computer running well.

Keep us posted,

kind regards,

Re: Windows Live messenger

Hi Dan,

Suggest you try this
  • Start
  • Conrtol Panel
  • Add and Remove
  • Click on Add and Remove Windows Components in the left pane
  • Scroll down to find Windows Messenger
  • Is it enabled or disabled
  • Enable it if it has no tick in the box
  • Exit out and reboot

Post back with what you find and if the above helped you.

kind regards,

Hi Diana,

Great news, good work and well done.

I do not run Messenger, but if there is a Messenger icon for it in QuickLaunch near the clock, then right click on it and see what options it shows. there should be one there to stop at boot up or something to that affect.
  • My Computer
  • Manage
  • Double Click on Services and Application in the left pane
  • Double Click on Services in the right pane
  • Extend the box by dragging in the lower right corner of the box
  • Click on startup tab at the top
  • Find Messenger, highlight it
  • Right click on the drop down menu and change to Manual
  • Exit out and reboot

Either of the above should do it for you.

Keep us posted how you get on as there is one other option I will tell you about if either of the above do not work for you.

kind regards,
