Hi can any one help, when I leave my PC for say about an hour when I come back my appearence goes all black instead of blue and my desk top picture dissapears...why is this?
also a pop up telle me ---[U]you may be a victim of software counterfeiting, this copy of windows did not pass the genuine windows validation
the shop where I took it the last time I got this pop up removed it...now it is back. any help

- Check your Display Properties
Right click an empty spot on your desktop
Click on the SCREEN SAVER tab
Select (none)
click APPLY

thank you for your reply..I have solved the desk top that you.
but the windows software...dont know where to start from the link you gave me...also I took it to my shop a while back and he said this sometimes happens and he removed the pop up...can you tell me how to do this?? I know you can remove pop ups from start up, somehere

Thought I had solved the desk top problem but no so....seems when I leave the pc for a whilw (Even when I turn it on) it still has a black screen it is not the screensaver as this is
in the NONE position. My dsk top icons are there but my picture background colour have gone...could it be the memory??
Please help

Try clicking the 'Power' button in 'Monitor Power,' and select all three to 'never.'

Hello Danthespan.
Right-click on the desk-top (Anywhere)
Select 'Properties'
Select 'Screen Saver'
On that page there should be a 'Monitor Power' setting, and below to the right-hand side a 'Power' button.
Click on it and set all Three items i.e., 'Monitor,' 'HDs' and 'Standby System' to 'Never.'
Select OK

I would agree with grimerz except for the fact that you icons are still there.
I'm thinking that either a mem problem or video card and/or drivers.
Are you running any third party wallpaper rotator ?

Still have this problem !! no there is no rotating of anyhting..if it is the memory...how do i sort that out...hoping you can save me a fortune.
