simple window re-size question

Having dragged the corner of a window to make it smaller, now every time I open a window it is small and I either have to click it or drag it back to full size. what do I need to do to have it open normally ? I seem to have tried everything.
many thanks

Re: simple window re-size question

hmm.. i get that with live messenger after i change the resolution or sommin, it makes it smaller once, and it keeps doing it. I find (in vista) that after a few runs of the program, it starts to remember my size
what os are you using, and what program does this happen on?

make the window the size you want, then close the window.
then reopen a new window

Look to the top/right of where you are reading this post, click on the middle icon, if it makes your window bigger, click on it again. If this window you are reading in does not cover the desktop as I am sure you want it to, in the lower left, put your mouse cursor over the lower left corner and drag the window to the required size.

Post back and tell us how you go.

kind regards

Re: simple window re-size question

To size a window (and usually force Windows to remember your choice), right click on the title bar (left hand side, directly over the text in the title bar) and choose SIZE. Then size it, then click the title bar again (as above) and choose CLOSE. When you next open the window, it should open in your last chosen size.

Re: simple window re-size question

Open the window you want, drag it to as large as you want, do not use the maximise button. Once you have it the right size hold down the shift button on your keyboard as you close the window using the X in the top right corner.
