Volume shortcut problem

I am using an Acer Laptop, Aspire series.

When I press FN (blue coloured) and UP, it is suppose to increase volume. And the screen will show a volume bar as it increases.

Now when I press FN and UP, the volume still increases, but the screen will not show the volume bar.

Any help? Its kinda annoying that the volume bar will not show on screen.

Ooh! A MSG Fan! Hehehe.

I have you done any installations/uninstallations recently? I had the same issue with my Dell Vostro 1500, until I found out later on that I can have it restored by installing Dell Quickset (I disabled or uninstalled it).
