Re: blue screen apeers when do a virus scan with MCafee
Boot into Safe Mode select Run, and type chkdsk /r. If it tells you it is scheduled on the next reboot, restart the system and let it run. Then, while the pc begins to boot again (if it goes directly to Windows, restart it again) go into Safe Mode again and run the virus scanner. If you have an Anti-Rootkit program (I am not sure if McAfee makes ones, but AVG and Avast! do), run it in Safe Mode aswell.
Reason: Either there is a hiccup on your drive, or a virus/worm/trojan is causing the error so it won't get detected.
Reason 2: Your hard drive is set as either a slave device or Cable Select on the jumper. If it is the master drive, make sure the jumper is set in the correct position.
