Question Service not working after boot - until service restarted

I've created a service using srvany which starts a little prog I wrote to monitor for a "switch user" condition and then on recognising one, kicks off a batch file which starts an ftp synchronisation.

The service is set to autostart and I've added Spooler as a dependency.

The problem is that after a reboot, although the service shows running, nothing happens when I switch user. If I stop and start the service, then switch user - everything works perfectly - and continues to work perfectly until the PC is rebooted again.

I can't understand why it's necessary to stop/start the service after a reboot.

Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received!

Cheers

Re: Service not working after boot - until service restarted

Totally out of my league here but I wonder is the Dependency running/ starting Automatic?

Anyway the Dependency would be my first guess but it is only a guess and not a very educated one.

Perhaps another member will have more insight but I just thought I'd throw in a reply.

Welcome to DAL by the way!

Re: Service not working after boot - until service restarted

Hi Jephree.. and thanks for the welcome!

Yep.. the spooler service is set to automatic and it's running. I've used the print spooler service a few times in the past as a dependency because I remember reading somewhere once that it's one of the last services to be loaded. I've never run into this problem before though..

Thanks for the reply anyway.. I'll keep plugging away.. but if anybody else has any suggestions in the meantime... they're much appreciated.
