Question Security Updates

I have a constant shield on my toolbar telling me a security update is available for down loading for Microsoft Office Professional SP3. When I try to install it gets halway thro and asks for a CDRom with Office Professional Sp3 CD to be inserted. I havent got the professional edition on my computer just the basic one. How can I get rid of the annouing reminder always popping up on my toolbar?? Please??

Re: Security Updates

Go to Windows Update and find this update.

Then click on the + for details.

Here you should see a box that says: "Don't show this update again".

Re: Security Updates

1) Disable auto updates in services.msc
2) Delete the contents of
C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution
3) Turn auto updates on
4) Restart your PC
5) Head to Windows Update to check for updates & install them if needed.
