copy system to an identical laptop

Hi

We have two identical laptops and have painstakingly set one up (installing programs, internet, networking etc.)

Is there a way to copy this one to the other and have a different username, windows licence etc?

Or do I have to sit for hours installing everything again?

Any help appreciated

regards Melissa

Re: copy system to an identical laptop

You can copy data by networking the two.

Copying programs? No.

Re: copy system to an identical laptop

Can it be done using Norton Ghost or something similar?

I want to make an exact duplicate of one laptop (which is setup and has programs installed) on another identical laptop but have a different username, some settings and windows xp pro licence on each.

I tried to clone the drives but this has not been sucessful :-(

Re: copy system to an identical laptop

No. First off any OS needs to be installed on a particular motherboard.

Programs then need to re installed into that particular registry.
