Error messages when starting up

A friend running XP SP3 is getting the following messages on start up:
"Air GCFG.exe- Entry Pt not found. The procedure entry point aps Get-InterfaceCount - could not be found in the Dynamic Link Library wlanapi.dll"
When that is okayed the following appears:
"WZCSLDRZ.exe EPNE (or EPNF - I am copying this from a handwritten note, have to show her how to make a screen shot) The procedure entry point apslinitialize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll"
The mention of wlanapi suggests something to do with a wireless issue (she has a wireless connection) and there were some issues to resolve with that yesterday, but these error messages continue each time the computer is started and the wireless connection is operating normally.
Suggestions welcome

Re: Error messages when starting up

Go to "Start" -> "Run" -> and register the dll by using the regsvr32 command:

regsvr32 wlanapi.dll

Re: Error messages when starting up

Hi Jephree,
Thanks for the suggestion. This is going to be interesting, every time I have helped the lady with stuff I have made her sit in the chair and follow instructions. Only way she will learn stuff is doing it herself. And it always ends up with me in the chair.
I have emailed your instructions and she will do it herself. hee hee hee

Broni
Thanks for the links re Hijack This. I have forward instructions about where to get Hijack This and what to do with a report.
We will see if Jephree's suggestion solves the problem, if not a Hijack This we will go.
Thanks to both of you.

Re: Error messages when starting up

Hi Jephree,
Running the regsvr32 wlanapi.dll command(?) produced the following message: wlanapi.dll was loaded, but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered.
This is on a computer that has recently had Windows installed on a new HDD, so this sort of problem seems odd, and the wireless connection is working okay. Did I perhaps do something wrong with the DLink set up? Should it be reinstalled?
One, possibly unrelated, issue is the computer has two Internet connections, a normal cable to modem connection. This is as a result of having to connect the modem via cable to change the password, the other is the wireless connection is the usually used one as the phone line is about as far from the computer as it is possible to be in that house. This means there is always an error in the notification area "a network cable is unplugged" or something similar. If I right click on the connection in the appropriate part of the Control Panel and selected "Disable" would that remove the annoying error notice?
Back to the main issue, is it time to do a Hijack This scan?
I await instructions.

It won't hurt to be on a safe side.
