Hi Jephree,
Running the
regsvr32 wlanapi.dll command(?) produced the following message: wlanapi.dll was loaded, but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered.
This is on a computer that has recently had Windows installed on a new HDD, so this sort of problem seems odd, and the wireless connection is working okay. Did I perhaps do something wrong with the DLink set up? Should it be reinstalled?
One, possibly unrelated, issue is the computer has two Internet connections, a normal cable to modem connection. This is as a result of having to connect the modem via cable to change the password, the other is the wireless connection is the usually used one as the phone line is about as far from the computer as it is possible to be in that house. This means there is always an error in the notification area "a network cable is unplugged" or something similar. If I right click on the connection in the appropriate part of the Control Panel and selected "Disable" would that remove the annoying error notice?

Back to the main issue, is it time to do a Hijack This scan?

I await instructions.
