installing xp onto a blank HD

Basically i have an oldish acer laptop, with a completley wiped HD, and a xp disc, a serial printed on the laptop but i cant figure a way to install XP onto the HD.

i have an adapter to plug the HD into my own laptop so i can access it through that but i still cant figure out what to do?

i could use ghost to copy all windows files from my laptop to the HD but my laptop is vista and i want XP on this laptop :\

any ideas?

No problem.

I was just going to ask why not boot the CD before I saw your second post.

Let us know if we can help further.
