computer TOTALLY messed up :(
my computer is really messed .. this is gonna be long so lets start ..
okay a couple of days ago i was playing on my computer i turned off the computer and went to sleep .. next morning i woke up ran the pc .. everything is normal .. except that my pc when it closes does a small sound something like "techhh"
its normal and it was there since the day i bought but this only happens when i shutdown but what was unnormal that this happened when the pc was running that morning .. if this happened when a game is running the game lags or crashes .. if its a movie then the movie will stop or lag ... if it is a program then the program will stop .. i did not pay much attention and kept living my life normally
now yesterday that sound happened while i was playing css and the computer crashed i turned it off and went to sleep i woke up today and found that the pc is SOOOOOOOOOOO slow ... really i mean it .. its not like the normal slow no .. IT TAKES 1 HOUR TO START .. just to start the pc ... 1 and half hour to run firefox .. what the hell??? games does not even run and my computer opens after half an hour!!
+ whenever i try to run task manager i get rtutils.dll is missing ... then the task manager opens i checked in windows/system32 and the file is there ... wierd though and when i tried to log to steam and did not remeber me .... wierd
i mean guys thats not normal at all .... this is my laptop that i am typing from .... please help .. is that a virus or hardware / software issue or what ?? ^^ thanks

Re: computer TOTALLY messed up :(
Some information about the computer would help - brand and model PC or motherboard.
Have you scanned for malware? Any errors in Device Manager?

Re: computer TOTALLY messed up :(
Malware=viruses, spyware, etc. Event manager? How does it do in safe mode? System restore point? Any BSODs? Have your drives been defragmented lately? Have you run a checkdisk?

Re: computer TOTALLY messed up :(
You start hitting f8 while you computer is booting up & you are given a choice as to how you want to boot up. I would try safe mode with networking. Alternatively while running your computer you can hit the reset button and it will give you the same options because in that case you didn't shut your computer down.
malware also equals spyware.
I need more info about your computer than you gave me. Processor type/speed, amount of ram, etc.
You need to defrag all of your partitions. You also need to run a check disk. From my computer cright click on the partition --> properties --> tools --> check now. Check both of the boxes and then hit start.

Re: computer TOTALLY messed up :(
Malware stands for malicious software which includes a whole range of threats to include viruses, worms, spyware, Trojans, or any other software intent on exploiting vulnerabilities for some ill gotten gains. Some folks include popups, spam, and adware too, but technically, those are just unwanted annoyances and not malicious.
