I cant download ANYTHING. what's wrong?

I just had my laptop reformated and its OS reinstalled.

so when i turned this on the first thing i wanted to do was to download the latest version of IE.

the "bar" on the "file download" window, it doesnt show any progress at all. and then after a few minutes it says

"internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

then i tried to download mozilla firefox, same thing happened. i tried to download yahoo messenger too, and same thing happened.

wah what should i do? how to solve this?

Try starting IE without any Add-ons, see if that allows you to download.

Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), You'll get a page that says Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons. Click on the Home icon then try a download.
