I am the Administrator but get access denied frequently

1 gb of ram. It depends on what you do with your computer and how good you are at optimizing windows. You would have to watch what you do and turn of stuff that you don't need but it is do-able for "light" computer work. If you do heavy game playing or use programs that take up a lot of ram then you shouldn't try it without upgrading your computer.
