On update Tuesday of this month I checked Windows Updates for my son's computer. He was offered 11 high priority updates for Windows XP.
I checked for my computer, also running XP and was told there were no high priority updates.
My question is why the difference?
The computer where I work was also offered 11 high priority updates.

Any number of reasons. Is the hardware exactly the same? Do both computers have the same software installed? Same version of Office? Are both using IE8? Silverlight? Are Windows Update download and install options set the same?
I would not be too concerned about high priority updates. If these were critical, then I would be more concerned.

If the updates are security fixes for Windows XP, what difference does it make what software is installed? Arent these patches for the operating system?
Are the settings on your machine set to download and install automatically, and the other machine are not?
