No Sound

Hello

This morning I did a system recovery on my computer as it would turn on but not load up to desktop. It works now except i have no sound. I tried reinstalling the audio drivers a few times but nothing worked.

I ran DxDiag and in the sound section and ran test DirectSound and got the following...
DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (No driver)

I'm starting to get to the point of throwing the thing out the window.... Can someone please help...

Thanks
Karen

Welcome to D-A-L.

Here is a link to Everest Home Edition (CLEAN FreeWare)

Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. Once it's finished loading and running, look under;

MOTHERBOARD
Post what is listed for your Motherboard (make/model) and the Motherboard Chipset description.

Multimedia, or, under Multimedia, PCI / PnP Audio. This will tell you what sound devices you have available
on your system.

Post that information.

Re: No Sound

Try this driver package. It should work;

SiS - Welcom to Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation.

Agree, then download and install.
