When I am on the internet and want to watch a video, I get an interent explorer error message and the sreen freezes. When I close the error, I lose my internet. Any ideas what may cause this?
I'm not sure what type of file they are. I used to be able to watch them, but all of a sudden, I can't anymore. I go to ebaum and other sites that have funny clips of **** near anything.
There is a whole page of help on the Microsoft site to do with wininet.dll problems beavis http://support.microsoft.com/search/...lobal&x=10&y=8
Internet Explorer is a internet 'browser' (a piece of software that allows you to browse the internet). Firefox and Opera are browser's as well. The difference is that Firefox and Opera are both more secure than Internet Explorer. You can also use a different media player. vlc media player is free and it plays virtually any media file
Have you checked on the Microsoft site for any available updates recently beavis?
I am finding a lot of these errors reported when people haven't got all the updates for Internet Explorer.
Also, try clicking on start, then Run, and type sfc /scannow (note the space after sfc). This will launch the system file checker and windows will try to fix any files that are damaged.
