trying to open windows ME doc. with XP

hi, i REALLY need HELP here. i just installed a clean version of windows XP. i burned all my documents i had on windows ME to a cd. ( these were MS word and works files) now i tried to open them with XP but no luck.

things already tried: i installed windows 95 office NO LUCK
installed windows 2000 office NO LUCK
installed windows word viewer, NO LUCK
installed open office, NO LUCK
these are improtant files and i really need help, since it was a clean installation i cant go back to windows ME!

Have you tried inserting the Office CD, browse to it? In screenshot #2 that is.

no i dont have the office cd. i dowwnloaded it from the internet

I do hope you mean legally! But that's another matter.

I don't think its possible then, but if you downloaded something that large before, I would download OpenOffice and try and open it with that. Let us know if that works!

i have tried open office still no luck... nothing i do seems to work out...

i cant even go back to windows ME since i did a clean installation. i put in my systems recovery cd i got when i bought my computer and it said i need to contact support...
i was wondering i sent a small file to you could you try and open it? and see if it works?

what version of word and works are they?

right now i have Microsoft word 2000 permium but i dont kno which one i had for windows ME i think i can figure that out then i could fix this...
