Wallpaper

Hello, my question involves my wallpaper. I would like to keep the original jpg that is set as my wallpaper. I however did not save the file and then set it as my wallpaper I selected it as an option after right clicking it.

I know it must be saved somewhere can anyone please tell me where?

Thanks,
Psychotuni

If you right click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties, go to Desktop, if you select the background that you're looking for and is currently your wallpaper, you can click Browse and it should be in that directory. Hope this helps (thought someone else may have a better solution!).

No I don't think that that will work Christina. I clicked "Browse" and it sent me to the My Pictures folder. You could always do a screen capture of your desktop... open it with Photoshop or something and get rid of the bottom Windows bar.

Well, I don't know, works for me when I pick the background that I use that is not a generic Windows wallpaper.

The directory for the windows wallpaper is in the C drive under the windows folder

I just had a nosey around my computer and found them at: C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper

I don't know if that is where yours will be. My modified wallpaper wasn't there though

I 'think' i solved it

Right click on your desktop and select 'Properties'.
Select 'Themes' and your desktop should be there.
Click 'Save As' and navigate to the folder i mentioned above and save it to there.

I just tried this and it saved my modified desktop as 'My Favourite Theme'

Hope this helps.

After reading everyone's responce I figured it out. Thank you everyone, all of your contributions helped me find the file I was looking for. The easiest way is to right click the desktop... Select properties... When the wallpaper you want is selected click browse. Right click the file and "send to" or "copy".

Thank you so much everyone who added their 2 cents. If any one is REALLY itching to see the pic I needed to save... Just ask... Unless you are not a hockey fan.
