Odd USB problem =(

Hi, this is my first post im glad to join the community and hoping one of you can help Thank you. Well heres my problem my plug and play has nevr been reliable but usually always worked. Recently tired of my wireless keyboard i decided to buy the Eclipse from Saitech when I plugged it in the windows Add New Hardware window opened. Usually its just plug and play since no driver were included. I tried everything but everytime the wizard said was unable to find driver. So I thought it was a problem with my keyboard I returned it and bought the G15 gaming keyboard from Logitech and have the same problem. I have tried almost everything from deleting all usb connectors in device manager to rolling back my service pack to 1. Though no matter what everytime i plug in my keyboard it asks for the driver. To make things worst after deleting and rescaning my USB connectors my Logitech headset developed the problem as well the only USB device that registers is my mouse now. If anyone can offer some help id appreciate it Thank you

Even though I like to assume, I want to make sure of this:

Were there any CD's that came with the keyboard/mouse/etc? *Normally* (in my experience) they come with CD's to install the drivers and everything with.

Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum Obsidian_dog

Reading through your post i get the feeling that this isn't a problem with the USB ports. I think it could just be a driver problem.
Did you re-install sp2? If not, do that and then go to Microsoft and install any updates that are available.
If the drivers are still not there you should note down the model number of the keyboard (and any other devices that aren't working properly) and go to the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.

hey

Well ty for the suggestions but when I say i tried everything I tried a lot and those were only the very first things I did. Though Logitech doesnt supply any drivers for this model of headset but I have recieved the newest for the keyboard. I called Logitech for my mouse and keyboard and stayed for hours they had 3 techies on it and we could not resolve anything and installing the software was the first things I did. Also when I first tried to plug them in I was currently running SP2 but downgraded hoping that would fix the problem but I will upgrade again today to see if it works. Any other suggestions Thank you.

Hi,

Just asking questions so I know whare you have been with this one.

First of all, what happens when you push and hold the little red Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard? Also, I assume you remembered to put the batteries in the thing before you tried to connect. Last, if you were using another keyboard (any kind) previous to this one, did you go in to the device manager and make sure there were no drivers or keyboard specified in there for another keyboard?
