Computer: 2002 Windows XP Home--Compaq
On Monday the 20th the BlackWorm Virus (that is what the windows security kept saying) was put on the computer (installed from a file from Morpheus). We got tired of all the pop-ups and being really really slow causing it to lock up, so we sent it to the repair shop. We got it back yesterday. The first problem we have with it is the icons on the desktop are over a black box and we can't get it off. We tried to go into the display option, but it didn't do anything. The second problem is Norton AntiVirus 2006 won't run a scan. Norton is running like it should, just not the scans. We were going to uninstall it and reinstall it, but keep getting this message:
The installer requires that Microsoft Windows Installer be put on your computer. Without it, you cannot install this Symantec product.
Do you want to update the Microsoft Windows Installer now?
When I push Yes, I get the following;
Setup was unable to update the MSI system component. If this problem continues please contact Microsoft at
www.microfot.com.
Does anyone know how to fix these problems?
Thank You
