Newbie needs help

Good morning.

I have always had a problem accessing a certain website. I usually can't get in and get the white screen "page not available....change settings to detect settings blah blah". So I go to Internet Options, Tools, check "auto detect" and turn off proxy, then I am able to get in. The problem is after I leave and come back, it reverts back to unchecked. My question is, where are the default settings so I don't have to go through this every time. Does it have something to do with my Adaware or firewall?

It's possible that some anti-spyware app is preventing these settings from sticking. Some firewalls, anti-virus, and specifically anti-malware apps sometimes have an option to prevent changes to IE's settings. Check through the options of those.
