Exclamation Backing up Xp

Ive been using a free imaging program calld Drive Image XL. it uses Ms shadow service to image files in use. for some reason i cant get the service to start. just get and error.

Ms software shadow copy provider is the service.

the error message is "cannot start the service" error code 1067, the service terminated unexpectedly
