wireless

I need help with getting my wireless to work. I have windows xp and I just went wireless with dsl. A rep from windstream suggested I have someone with compaq walk me through getting my wireless taken out and put back in to start picking up wireless signals. It is something I can be walked through on the phone. Of course compaq wants me to agree to a new "service agreement" which means money before they will help me. I would love to have some help and do this on my own if possible without signing on for a service agreement I will probably never use. Any help out there??? Pleasssseee.

Can you elaborate on : "getting my wireless taken out and put back in".

Do you have any idea what this guy meant?

Sorry I am not very experienced with wireless but I just thought if you had a clearer idea of this suggestion it might help us help.

Perhaps Brain_damage will have an idea.

Did you get a wireless router/modem from your DSL?
