hi still new to computers,how do I remove unwanted icons from the left hand side of the task bar( system tray),icons like sound,picaso,etc,I have these on my desktop,and have been told my computer will run faster if I deleate them,any help please ?

One method is to click Start, Run, type in msconfig. Then click on the Startup tab. Remove the check mark from unwanted items. Ensure you don't remove essential items like firewalls, anti virus, etc.

I forgot to mention that the next time you log on, a window will pop up notifying you that the Config Utility has been used etc, etc. Just put a check mark in the box that says "Don't display this again" (or wording to that effect), then click on "Continue without restarting" (again, or wording to that effect).
