My start up is really slow

Hi i don't really know alot about computers but hopefully someone can help me out a little bit. i recently got a computer from my aunt who didn't need it anymore. it has XP on it...iv got logged in and all but when i get to my desktop it's so slow that i can't even click anything... i let it load and all and sometimes it will let me access the start up menu but it won't let me go any further...if theres anyway i can like wipe out everything and start over it would be good. i do not have any disks for the computer or anything like that. plz help :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

help!

hi my computer is running extreamly slow once i reach the desktop... i have XP and all. the computer runs fine during setup and all but once i reach the desktop i can't even move the mouse? help

You need the XP CD that either came with the computer or was used to install XP on the computer.

If XP was pre-installed what is the make and model of the computer?

The manufacturer may have a recovery partition on the hard drive.

Otherwise you will need to purchase an XP CD.
