Laptop problems

Hi
2 problems - I've followed Windows advice and the settings are all correct but System Restore still won't work. And when I type all the letters get jumbled up, ending up all over the place. Any help much appreciated.
Mo.

Hi Mo,
what do you mean by System Restore wont work? do you mean it doesn't respond and you cant use it, or do you mean it doesn't Restore your pc to a previous state?
and when you type the letters are all over the place?
does this occur in programs like word, wordpad, excel, e-mail.
does this occur in cmd.exe
or both, please give more info.

Hi Carl
Thanks for the response.
I go through all the System Restore procedure, but whichever date I pick, the end result is that System restore was unable to restore my computer to a previous date. I've followed all the check procedures advised by Microsoft but no good.
The typing problem is worst on email but also when typing a topic on Googles front page.
Mo.

system restore uses about 0.7Gb to create each restore point, after a few months and regular system check point (auto restore points) the restore points start to delete each other to make space for new ones being created. do a restore test. Install something like a webcam or a game then use system restore to go directly back to before you installed it. If the device or game is still installed then clearly it is NOT WORKING like you said.
You can delete all previous restore points by turning it off, click the check box next to the selected drive, normally :/C it will ask if you are sure, click yes. It will now remove all previous points and free up about 4 Gb on your drive. Now turn restore back on by clicking the check box :/C again and apply.
As for the keys problem, I'm totally baffled, but seeking advise elsewhere. have you looked at settings in start/all programs/accessories/ease of access/on-screen keyboard. (maybe a short term fix in there for you).
