I can't find a temporary file

I was working on a document that was emailed to me without first downloading it to my computer. Stupid of me. Then, I hit save at the end and it disappeared. I thought I had lost it forever. But, then when I tried to download the original attachement (to work on for the second time) I did a save and it brought me to a "temp" folder. In that folder, I could see the document that I had worked on yesterday and thought was lost. I can see that the doc is in local disk:c->doc and settings->owner-->local settings-->temp. But, when I try to go there, I don't see the document. It is so weird. How can I get this temp document? tia

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools(I belive)-->Folder Options-->View then select to show hidden files. This showed make all hidden files visble. If that works right click the document and go to properties and uncheck the hidden box. That way if you set you computer to not show hidden file again it won't hide that file.
