The major differences between IE6 & IE7 are that IE7 has;
- Multi-tab browsing
- a phishing filter
- a few more security enhancements
If IE6 works fine for you, and you're comfortable with it, (and you don't have internet security problems) then stay with it.
I waited until IE7 was out for quite a while before I switched. Like all "new" things, it'll take a few sessions with it to get used to it. I like the multi-tab browsing. I went to Firefox for a while to get multi-tab's but went back to IE6 as I found it a bit cumbersome the way Favorites (Bookmarks in FF) was handled (in FF).
As a note, I run XP Home, SP2, with
only two updates. (KB926239 & KB933360.) I do not have any other updates installed, nor do I have Automatic Updates running as a service.
I run avast!, Comodo Firewall & BOClean, & BillP Studios Winpatrol. I've never had a problem.
