XP monitor problems
Hi
i have a dell Pc running Xp pro and recently my monitor (crt)seems to be going crazy. The desptop page is always expanded-esp the bottom i can never find the green start button as its always so far down the page.i correct this by the monitor and then the next time i log back on its slipped again.
I have updated the drivers-run malware scans-i can't think of any other stuff to try.

Re: XP monitor problems
Hi Diablo. Replace the monitor. Sounds like it's going bad.
Can you borrow one to try? That way you'll know for sure.

Welcome to D-A-L.
"as its always so far down the page.i correct this by the monitor and then the next time i log back on its slipped again."
Have you saved the new setting?

Re: XP monitor problems
R-Click on an empty area of your Desktop. Choose Properties. Then click on Settings. Under Screen Resolution set it to Less an increment or two. When you have it the way you want it, click OK.

Re: XP monitor problems
You said i correct this by the monitor. I took that to mean you were using the controls on the monitor itself, not using the System Properties / Settings page to make changes.
Please explain exactly what you are doing, thanks.

Re: XP monitor problems
I have used both the controls in the control panel and the buttons on the monitor-neither of these make any differance when i turn on the pc again.
it wasn't doing this last month when i received the pc.
