Window Explorer Problem

My brother's computer was infected by virus and can not see desktop and icons.I ran a virus scan and removed viruses using and the computer works again.However i had another issue which i did not know how to solve.The issue is given below.

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and has to close .
Sorry for inconvenience.
If you are working on something and did not save,information maybe lost

Can anyone please help me because I'm frustrated seeing the message coming up many many times and it disturbed me.

You could try running the System File Checker.

Go to start > Run... > sfc /scannow

(note the space between sfc and /scannow)

You will most likely be asked to insert your XP CD.

Data Execution Prevention-Microsoft Windows

I had one dialogue box coming up everytime when i start my computer.

Header is : Data Execution Prevention-Microsoft Windows
The it says To help protect your computer,Window has closed this program
Name:Windows Explorer
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation

then there is a button say Close Message
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Data Execution Prevention helps protect against damage from virus and other
security threats.What should I do?

The above message is in the dialogue box.Can anyone help me please?

You receive a "Data Execution Prevention" error message in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or in Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005

Hi there

What you can try is you can try to copy explorer.exe (Location C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE) from your computer and overwrite it over you mothers computer. It will prompt you some messages simply click on yes and overwrite the existing file

The computer is infected with virus.I noticed too that internet explorer did not work or cannot connect to the internet.Mozilla Firefox can connect to the internet.It has symantec antivirus and the Internet explorer 7.Can This things contribute to the issue?
