Project Gotham Racing, Accelerate, Start?

Hi,

This is really annoying me now, to the point where im about to chuck the whole flaming lot out the window. When you start a race or whatever in PGR (1st one) hows the best way to pull away. Some races the car is fine if i wack the accelerator trigger as soon as the numbers go, some races the car does nothing. I find that these races are always like this, and i have found no way to make the car move, apart from leave it 10 seconds to start rolling, slam it in reverse and then wack on the accelerator, but of course by then the other cars are so far ahead i have no chance of even catching them up..

Any thoughts appreciated
